For the past few years, Jill was a key player at Netflix, writing content to promote and illuminate a vast catalog of movies and TV shows created all around the globe. As part of a small, elite team of writers, creating materials for an unprecedented worldwide launch, she helped the company become the world’s leading internet television network, with over 83 million members in over 190 countries,
At Walt Disney Feature Animation, Jill's story-telling talents boosted the creative development of several feature films, as she teamed with directors and artists, preparing pitches and presentations for John Lasseter, and providing script notes and suggestions. Her ideas and contributions appear in “Tangled,” “Bolt,” “The Princess and the Frog,” the TinkerBell franchise, “Planes” and “Planes 2.” While at Disney, she helped develop projects for “The Muppets,” wrote marketing and publicity materials for live action features, and penned a children’s book for Disney Publishing, based on the “Sofia the First” TV show. At Warner Bros. Creative Department, she wrote content, packaging copy, and special features for DVD releases at the time when Home Video accounted for over 60% of the studio’s profits.
Jill began her career as a TV & screenwriter in Hollywood as the youngest staff writer on the ABC-TV hit show, “The Love Boat,” where she worked on over 200 episodes. She co-created her own original drama series with Aaron Spelling, “Finder of Lost Loves,” which ran on ABC. Jill created and produced special World Series comedy segments for ABC-TV, in conjunction with Major League Baseball. She has also written episodes for several prime time comedy and dramatic series. Currently she has multiple original screenplays and TV series in development.
A native New Yorker, Jill started down her Literary path at Cornell University, where she was mentored by Pulitzer Prize winning novelist Alison Lurie, noted poet A.R. Ammons, and Oprah Book List’s author Robert Morgan. After college, she worked in the Cover Department of “Newsweek,” and has since published Magazine and Newspaper Articles in “Cosmopolitan,” “Real Weddings,” “Written By” (The magazine of the Writers Guild of America), three East Coast newspapers, and other publications.
Jill was also the first woman to manage a Major League Baseball team - the Dodgers - but that’s another story.
